AUTOPSY...
Have you ever heard the word AUTOPSY, it is dissecting the dead to know the cause of death, once a person has died his body cannot be considered as a thing or as a property, he is no longer a person or human, we call them THE CASE or THE BODY.
In the field of studies in saving the lives of the living there is also ways on how to eliminate the lives of the living and if that happens there are also ways to determine the cause of death thru the autopsy, unlike the living the dead don’t lie, their body will tell how, where and when and why the body was killed, and the prosecution will now only determine the motive, the intent and the skills of the suspect. They will now have the profile of the suspect, her life story, her family starting from her childhood. Sometimes THE BODY at the autopsy table tells the story as if the dead is narrating the stories of her life, what had happened and why it happened…
I am new at the unit, it’s an initiation to enter into the autopsy room and write down my observation...its a training in observing the dead, at first it was so scary...I am not used to this kind of job, my field of expertise is not to dwell with the dead but with the living however I need to be objective, and my nervousness was aggravated by the very cold room .The storage like a filing cabinet where they stored the dead body with a tag for his identification waiting for a release order that the autopsy is now cleared added to the creepiness of the room..So silent...I could hear my heartbeat.., I really wanted it to be finished ahead of time, do my report and observation and move out of that room...I am glad that my husband bought me an Ipod to battle such nervousness...while the doctor is dissecting every parts of the body I am listening to moonlight sonata of Beethoven..It helps me to calm down and to focus on my observation...I don’t know how I managed to overcome my fear and after that first observation, it is now a part of my routine as if I am just reading a book in biology…
